Position
Purpose:
To work in a dynamic and
rapidly changing environment, with responsibility for developing fixturing,
tooling and processes to support new product development, product improvements
and capacity expansions. The position will also include CAD design and
standardization support to the development of suspension systems for the Trailer
commercial market.
Essential
Functions:
1. Plant
and Divisional Support - Support all three manufacturing engineering groups
(On-Highway; Vocational; Axle, Wheel End, & Brakes) with the following:
a. Support
plant engineers with drawing development and releases
b. Experience
with 3D modeling and fixture design
c. Simultaneous
modeling and drawing development for expediting hot projects
d. Concept
and/or design weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and other tooling concurrent
with product design.
e. CREO
model releases
f.
Drawing checks and releases
g. Equipment
manual creation and checking
2. Develop
and Support Standardization Initiatives
a. Coordinate/collaborate
with engineers to create new and/or modify existing technical drawings that
communicate engineering ideas, designs, and information in support of
engineering functions.
b. Verify
that [H] drawings accurately represent all industry drafting standards through
the development and maintenance of the Hendrickson Drawing, CAD and Mfg. Eng.
Guidelines document.
3. Become
the main point of Contact for MFG Engineering in Team Center
a. Complete
Hendrickson’s Team Center training.
b. Develop
a fine understanding and become the subject matter expert of Hendrickson’s Team
Center Navigation and Utilization for the MFG Engineering group.
Education
and Training
·
Bachelor’s degree in a related
technical area is required (Mechanical for Industrial Engineering preferred).
·
Experience with robotic systems,
metal fabrication or arc welding are strong positives.
Minimum
Qualifications
·
Must be proficient in parametric
modeling and drafting using 3D CAD software
·
Strong working knowledge of MS
Office software
·
Strong communication and project
organization abilities
·
Understanding of Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerance per ANSI Y4.5M
·
Proficiency with Pro-E/Creo software.
·
Ability to manage multiple tasks at
once.
·
Experience using Team Center or
another product lifecycle management software
·
Experience in a medium to high
volume manufacturing environment.
Physical
Demands
·
Ability to sit for prolonged
periods of time while performing work duties in front of a computer screen.
·
The candidate must be comfortable
working in a heavy industrial environment.
·
Ability to travel, up to 3-5 weeks
per year.
Environmental
Conditions
·
Surroundings may
include dirt and heat while on the manufacturing floor/test lab.
