Production Area Coordinator - Weekend Shift

(This is a developmental assignment to prepare for an Area Leader’s role.)
- Supervise the maintenance of a safe, clean and secure work environment for all associates in a designated area.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of and adherence to all established company quality standards, policies and procedures.
- Plan, organize and develop company resources to meet all established goals and objectives for on-time shipment of product to customer. Enforce all preventative maintenance schedules as applicable.
- Provide training to ensure that only qualified personnel (per ISO standards) are assigned to perform work.
- Identify areas to improve and then lead teams to complete the improvement.
- Ensure that necessary tools and equipment are ready and available to meet schedules. Prepare instructions for equipment operation and preventative maintenance.
- Assist area associates in achieving goals in quality, safety, delivery, and productivity.
1. Ability to instruct operators in such areas as equipment and process operation, method use of tools, work measurements, quality standards and shop procedures.
2. Good computer literacy desired.
3. Two to three years experience in a manufacturing facility.
4. Knowledge of and experience in production planning and work flow.
5. Supervisory experience in a team or participative workforce environment is preferred.
6. Strong people oriented individual that leads by example, and can motivate and inspire others to do the same.
7. A belief in developing a culture where each associate is accountable for his/her actions and cares about quality.
8. Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime is required.
· At least an Associate’s degree is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
· Practical experience facilitating problem-solving processes (preferably in a highly empowered environment) is critical.
· Knowledge and experience in managing technical production processes. Particularly useful areas of experience include production assembly and paint.
